Belgium :the Government of Belgium's most significant contribution to UNDP work has been to the Mine Action Programme, which has been operating since 1999. The Mine Action Programme is currently in a transition period between two projects; Mine Action Project Phase III.

Canada/Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA):The Canadian Government contributes through their development agency, CIDA, to the National Programme on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) which aims to ensure coherence in the work of the key water authorities. It also contributed to the Masila Community Water Supply and Sanitation Project which aims to improve water resource management, community water supply and sanitation in Masila community in the governorate of Hadhramaut.

Czech Republic: The Czech Government provided funding for a UN Volunteer intern who worked in the area of governance and gender with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS.
 
Denmark: Denmark contributed to UNDP Yemen’s projects through cost-sharing and Thematic Trust Funds, The projects were 1)Strengthening National Human Rights Capacity project; 2) Electoral Support Project; 3) Decentralization and Local Development Support.

European Commission (EC): the EC has contributed significant amounts to UNDP Yemen’s projects. They co-funded the Electoral Assistance Project, which supported the electoral process leading to the presidential and local elections in 2006 and conducted an electoral observation mission for the same elections with UNDP as executing agency. In addition, EC contributed to support UNDP’s and Mine Action Project Phase III.

Finland: Finland has funded a Junior Programme Officer who worked in the area of governance and gender and developed a project to support civil society and human rights in Yemen.
 
France:France provided support to a number of key project areas, specifically the Local Governance Support Project (LGSP); Enhance National Human Rights Capacity II; Human Rights Project; Decentralization and Local Development Support Program; Modernization of Justice Sector; Mine Action Phase II; and Supreme Commission for Election and Referendum of Yemen.

Italy: Italy provided support to a number of key project areas, specifically the Strengthening industrial and trade registration capacities; Demining programme; DLDSP Decentralization and local development support programme; Poverty and Natural Resources on the island of Socotra; and Election Support Programme Phase II. In addition to this support, Italy also funds 2 UN Volunteers who worked in the area of pro-poor economic growth and the other one in the RC office.

Japan:The main funding from the Government of Japan has been for UNDP’s Project to Support the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referenda (SCER) in the application of GIS, which is now closed. Japan also supports our work in the Mine Action Programme. The Mine Action Programme is currently in a transition period between two projects; Mine Action Project Phase III and Mine Action Project Phase IV. In addition Japan is also fully funding 2 UN Volunteers working in the area of Environment and Crisis Prevention & Recovery.

Netherlands: The Netherlands supports UNDP initiatives in the areas of human rights, gender, elections, justice, public financial management (PFM) and the Integrated Framework (IF) for the promotion of trade and export. The Netherlands supported UNDP's Mine Action Programme; the Public Financial Management Reform Project; the Strengthening National Capacity for Human Rights Project; the Improving Trade and Industry Licenses Project; the Fishery Quality Control for Export Growth Project; and the Fruit and Vegetable Export Promotion and Quality Control Project.

Romania: Romania provided funding for a UN Volunteer interns who worked in the RC office.
 
Sweden/ Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA): Sweden currently has contributed to the Early Recovery Project for the Livelihoods Sector of the Flood Affected Areas in Hadhramout and Al-Mahara Governorates (Swedish fund through BCPR), as well as to the project of Strengthening National Capacity for Mine Action in Yemen - Phase III (Swedish and SIDA funds through TTF).
Switzerland: Switzerland provided funding for a UN Volunteer interns who worked in the area of gender.

United Kingdom/Department for International Development (DFID) - UK: DFID provided support to a number of key project areas, specifically the Mine Action Programme III; the Public Financial Management Reform Project; the Integrated Justice Sector Development Project; the Aid Harmonization and Alignment Project; and the Strengthening National Capacity for Human Rights Project. They have also been heavily involved in the household budget survey work and the Yemen Poverty Assessment Report 2007.

United States of America/USAID: US has currently supported UNDP Yemen project of Mines Action-III through PCPR. In the past, USAID provided support to a number of key project areas, specifically the Strengthening National Capacity for Mine Action; Decentralization and Local Development Support Project; Strengthening National Capacity in Human Rights.

Yemen: Government of Yemen has also entered into cost sharing agreement in key UNDP funded projects, as well as the Social Fund for Development (SFD) has been a key player and providing financing for microfinance and decentralization projects.

World Bank: for the last three years UNDP, the World Bank and the Government of Yemen have been working together with other donors to support the Government of Yemen to conduct the second Household Budget Survey. This partnership has resulted in preparation, for the first time, of a joint Poverty Assessment Report.
