The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women “UN Women” becomes formally operational on January 1, 2011.
The establishment of UN Women was taken in a historic vote by the United Nations General Assembly on 02/07/2010 and meant utterly to accelerate progress in meeting the needs of women and girls worldwide.

The Training of Trainers Workshop for Imams in Seiyun/ Hadramout Governorate today. (2010-11-23)  OXFAM GB and UNDP Yemen Gender and Economic Empowerment Project will Collaborate to Promote Economic Empowerment in Hadramout Governorate for women and youth

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today to “collaborate for promoting women’s economic empowerment in Hadramout governorate”.  The MoU between the UNDP Gender and Economic Empowerment Project (GEE) and OXFAM GB envisages the implementation of activities and actions to lay the foundations of partnership between UNDP and OXFAM GB relevant projects.
